Properties
The Properties card shows the parameters of the selected object and changes completely according to its type. It is shown only when there is a single selected object with a tool that is not creating geometry.
- The header indicates the object type (Column, Complex Fill, Running Line, Lettering, or Fill Polygon).
- For columns, an A, B, or C badge appears.
- Sections collapse and expand with their header.
- Changes are applied live on the canvas.
With multiple objects selected, the card is hidden. Use the top context bar to align, flip, or scale the group.
Variants
| Icon | Variant | Objects | Own sections |
|---|---|---|---|
| Complex Fill | Fill with contour and holes. | Fill settings, Tatami settings, Compensation, and Underlay. | |
| Fill Polygon | Filled rectangles, circles, and stars. | Same as fill, without holes. | |
| Column | Columns A, B, and C. | Satin stitch, Entry/exit, Underlay, Compensation, and Travel. | |
| Lettering | Embroidered text. | Text, Font and layout, Satin settings. | |
| Running Line | Run stitches. | Run settings. |
Stitch type
Fill objects let you switch between Outlined and Filled:
- Outlined converts the object into a running line and switches to showing the run properties.
- Filled returns it to a patterned fill object.
This selector does not appear on columns, texts, or running lines.
Complex Fill and Fill Polygon
Fill settings
| Control | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Pattern | Tatami, Cross fill, Contour fill, Satin | Changes the fill pattern. Choosing Satin converts the object into a column. |
| Row spacing | 0.1–2.0 mm (0.4) | Distance between passes; defines density. |
| Stitch length | 1.0–8.0 mm (4.0) | Target length of the stitches within each row. |
| Min length | 0.1–4.0 mm (0.4) | Prevents excessively short stitches. |
| Density | 0.5–10 /mm | Calculated from the row spacing and kept in sync. |
| Angle | Circular selector | Direction of the fill passes. |
| Backstitch | Standard, Borderline, Diagonal | Style of the perimeter backstitch. |
| Entry / exit (tie-offs) | Switch | Enables the tie-off at the start and end. |
Tatami settings
Advanced section, visible when the pattern is Tatami.
| Control | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Partition | Digits 0–7 | Sequence of partition lines, for example 20163. |
| Partition angle | −90° to 90° | Orientation of the partitions. |
| End space | 0–10 mm | Spacing at the opposite edge; 0 uses the normal spacing. |
| Split size | 0–100 mm | Splits the fill into blocks; 0 disables it. |
| Stagger | 1–16 | Rows before the pattern repeats; 1 stays aligned. |
| Random | 0–100% | Random variation to disguise needle holes. |
Pull compensation
| Control | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Pull | 0–2 mm (0) | Shrinks the contour inward. |
| Push | 0–2 mm (0.2) | Extends the contour outward. |
Underlay
| Control | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Enable underlay | Switch | Adds a stabilization layer beneath the fill. |
| Type | None, Center walk, Edge walk, Zigzag, Double zigzag | Underlay pattern. |
| Stitch length | 2–10 mm (3) | Underlay stitch length. |
Lettering
The text content is edited in a multiline area and rebuilt automatically. Below it appears Font and layout:
| Control | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Font | Included embroidery fonts | Pre-drawn satin glyphs. |
| Height | 2–120 mm (12) | Cap height. |
| Size | 6–300 pt (24) | Typographic size. |
| Width | 50–200% (100) | Horizontal scale of the letters. |
| Letter spacing | −2 to 20 mm (0) | Additional separation between letters. |
| Word spacing | −2 to 30 mm (0) | Additional separation between words. |
| Kerning | −2 to 10 mm (0) | Fine adjustment between letter pairs. |
| Offset | −50 to 50 mm (0) | Moves the text relative to the baseline. |
| Satin width | 0.2–10 mm (0) | Fixed stroke width; 0 uses the automatic value. |
| Baseline | Straight, Arch up, Arch down, Circle | Text layout. |
| Alignment | Left, Center, Right | Horizontal alignment. |
| Radius | 10–500 mm (60) | Visible in arch up, arch down, and circle. |
Texts also use Satin settings with Density and the entry and exit tie-offs.
Columns A, B, C
The header shows the A, B, or C badge and a description of the drawing method:
- A: alternating rails; each pair of nodes defines a rib.
- B: two edges; the drawn rails define the width of the band.
- C: centerline; the width is edited with Start width and End width or by dragging.
Satin stitch
| Control | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Preset | 0.20 / 0.40 / 0.70 / 1.20 mm | Quick spacing values. |
| Spacing | 0.05–3.0 mm (0.4) | Distance between satin passes. |
| Max stitch | 1–10 mm (10) | Maximum length of a satin stitch. |
| Auto spacing | Switch | Adjusts the spacing on curves. |
| Auto split | Switch | Splits long stitches. |
| Random splits | Switch | Varies the splits to disguise the join. |
Entry and exit points
| Control | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Entry point | Manual, Automatic | Decides where the column starts. |
| Exit point | Manual, Automatic | Decides where it ends. |
| Start/End width | 0–20 mm (3) | Column C only; width at each end. |
| Width | Read-only | In A and B, shows the width calculated from the rails. |
| Offset | −50 to 50 mm (0) | Column C only; shifts the centerline. |

- Stitch length: 2–10 mm (2.5).
The + Add underlay button creates a new layer and the trash icon deletes the corresponding layer.
Tie-offs, compensation, and travel
- Entry / exit (tie-offs): starting and ending tie-offs.
- Compensation: Pull and Push, both from 0 to 2 mm.
- Travel: Inner margin (0–3 mm, 2) and Travel stitch (2–10 mm, 2.5).
