Installation
Always download from anyta.io/download. Access requires verifying your email address, and the download link is temporary; if it expires, request a new one from the same page.
All official binaries for this version use dynamic Qt 6. There are no static packages: Qt libraries are bundled with the application or resolved from the system, depending on the platform.
Supported versions
| System | Minimum version | Architecture | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 | x86_64 | Supported |
| macOS | macOS 14 Sonoma | Apple Silicon (arm64) | Supported; this version is not universal |
| Linux | glibc 2.43 or later (Ubuntu 26.04+) | x86_64 | Supported |
| Arch Linux | Rolling release | x86_64 | Native package |
General requirements: 4 GB of RAM, 500 MB of free space, and a desktop-compatible GPU. On Linux, both X11 and Wayland sessions are supported.
The published macOS version is compiled for Apple Silicon only. It does not run on Intel Macs. On Linux, packages are compiled on Ubuntu 26.04 (glibc 2.43); a distribution with an earlier glibc will not be able to start the binaries even if Qt is installed.

Each file is published with a .sha256 alongside the binary. Verify the
download before installing; if the hash does not match, download the file again.
Windows
Graphical installation
- Download
windows-dynamic.zipfrom anyta.io/download. - Open File Explorer, right-click the ZIP, and choose Extract All….
- Select a stable folder, for example
C:\Program Files\AnyTa. If Windows asks for administrator permissions, accept; if you cannot write there, useC:\AnyTa. - Open the extracted folder and go into
bin. - Double-click
anyta.exe.
The ZIP includes the Qt 6.10.2 DLLs in bin\. You do not need to install Qt,
Visual Studio, or any other component. If SmartScreen shows a warning, select
More info → Run anyway; the build is not digitally signed.
Do not move anyta.exe out of the bin folder: the DLLs, lettering fonts, and
legal notices are resolved relative to the executable.
Installation from PowerShell (optional)
Expand-Archive .\windows-dynamic.zip -DestinationPath "C:\Program Files\AnyTa"
Get-FileHash .\windows-dynamic.zip -Algorithm SHA256
& "C:\Program Files\AnyTa\bin\anyta.exe"
macOS
Graphical installation
- Check the processor in the Apple menu → About This Mac: it must be an Apple M1 or later chip. This version does not run on Intel Macs.
- Download
anyta-dynamic.zipfrom anyta.io/download. - Open Downloads in the Finder and double-click the ZIP to extract it.
- Open a Finder window and drag
AnyTa.appto the Applications folder. If macOS asks for a password or confirmation, accept. - Go to Applications, right-click AnyTa, and choose Open. Confirm with Open in the dialog.
- If the Open option does not appear or macOS still blocks the app, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the Security section, click Open Anyway, and enter your password. Then open AnyTa again from Applications.
The build is not signed or notarized, which is why Gatekeeper shows the warning
the first time. The package includes Qt 6.10.2, the QML modules, the fonts, and
the legal files inside AnyTa.app/Contents; you do not need Homebrew or Qt
installed.
Installation from Terminal (optional)
cd ~/Downloads
unzip anyta-dynamic.zip
mv AnyTa.app /Applications/
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/AnyTa.app
open /Applications/AnyTa.app
Verify the download with:
shasum -a 256 -c anyta-dynamic.zip.sha256

Prerequisites
You do not need to install Qt, CMake, compilers, or the development SDK. The
.deb package and the Arch package resolve their dependencies with the package
manager. The AppImage and tar.gz include Qt, but use the desktop's base
libraries.
| Format | Dependencies you must install |
|---|---|
.deb (Ubuntu 26.04+) | None manually: apt installs Qt, the QML modules, and the plugins |
.pkg.tar.zst (Arch) | None manually: pacman resolves Qt and its dependencies |
| AppImage and tar.gz | glibc 2.43+, libstdc++, Mesa/OpenGL, X11 or Wayland, fontconfig, and freetype |
On a full desktop these libraries are already present. On minimal installations or containers, install them before running the AppImage or tar.gz:
# Ubuntu 26.04+
sudo apt install libgl1 libegl1 libxcb-cursor0 libxkbcommon-x11-0 \
libfontconfig1 libfreetype6
# Arch Linux
sudo pacman -S --needed mesa libxcb xcb-util-cursor libxkbcommon \
fontconfig freetype2
FUSE 2 is only required to run the mounted AppImage; if you do not have it, use
APPIMAGE_EXTRACT_AND_RUN=1 as shown below. Audio is optional: install
libasound2t64 (Ubuntu) or alsa-lib (Arch) if you use the sound features.
Ubuntu 26.04 or later (.deb)
The package uses the system Qt 6.10.2 and declares the required QML and
plugin dependencies; apt installs them automatically.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install ./anyta-0.1.0-linux-amd64.deb
anyta
To check the installation:
QT_QPA_PLATFORM=offscreen anyta --check-resources
Uninstall with sudo apt remove anyta.
AppImage
The AppImage includes Qt 6.10.2 and does not require installing the application.
chmod +x anyta-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage
./anyta-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage
If the system does not have FUSE 2, run the AppImage without mounting it:
APPIMAGE_EXTRACT_AND_RUN=1 ./anyta-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage
On Ubuntu, FUSE 2 is installed with sudo apt install libfuse2t64. Because the
AppImage is a squashfs image, the Qt libraries cannot be replaced directly; if
you need to replace them, extract with
./anyta-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage --appimage-extract and run
./squashfs-root/AppRun.
tar.gz archive
The tar.gz includes AppRun, the Qt libraries, and the plugins. Extract it into
its own folder and run AppRun:
mkdir -p ~/Applications/AnyTa
tar -xzf anyta-0.1.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz -C ~/Applications/AnyTa
~/Applications/AnyTa/AppRun
Unlike the AppImage, the libQt6*.so.6 libraries in usr/lib/ are visible and
replaceable.
Arch Linux
Install the native package with pacman; the Qt 6 dependencies are resolved
from the official repositories.
sudo pacman -U ./anyta-0.1.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
anyta
The package installs /usr/bin/anyta, the .desktop launcher, and the icons in
hicolor. It uses the system Qt 6.12.
Verify the download on Linux
sha256sum -c anyta-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage.sha256
Dynamic Qt and licenses
- Windows and macOS: official Qt 6.10.2 included in the package. The DLLs and frameworks can be replaced with another compatible Qt 6 build.
- AppImage and tar.gz: Qt 6.10.2 included as shared libraries.
- .deb and Arch: use the system's dynamic Qt (6.10.2 and 6.12, respectively).
- No builds with static Qt are distributed in this version.
Qt is distributed under LGPLv3. Substitution details and third-party notices
are in legal/REPLACING_QT.md and legal/THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md inside each
package.
First launch
When you open AnyTa for the first time, the user configuration folder is created. From Edit → Preferences you can change the language, sounds, canvas, and object defaults. See Preferences.
If the application does not start, see Troubleshooting before reinstalling.
